A new era for the Nebelhorn has begun! After more than 90 years of operation, the starting signal has been given for the complete renovation of the highest mountain railway in the Allgäu region.

The OBERSTDORF · KLEINWALSERTAL BERGBAHNEN logo has adorned the ski helmet of successful giant slalom skier Alexander Schmid since 2018. Now, the contract between the Allgäu native and the local cable car company has been prematurely extended for another three years.

Since July 18, the summit cable car has been transporting hikers up the Fellhorn once again. From the outside, the cable car doesn't look like much of a change, but at its core, it has undergone a facelift and transitioned from the analogue to the digital age.

The two skiers Jochen Mesle and Max Kroneck embarked on their most extraordinary ski tour yet. Their mission: to cycle from Germany to the Mediterranean Sea to Nice, skiing the most beautiful mountains along the way.

"Planning security comes first!" Due to the currently unforeseeable Corona situation and the extended protective measures imposed by governments, the OBERSTDORF · KLEINWALSERTAL BERGBAHNEN are postponing the start of the season until December 18, 2020.

Due to the decisions of the Austrian and German federal governments, the OBERSTDORF · KLEINWALSERTAL BERGBAHNEN have postponed the start of the season to Monday, January 11, 2021. The cable cars are thus following the guidelines of the Bavarian state government.
