Skiing for children in Oberstdorf at the Söllereck
The Söllereck Ski Area near Oberstdorf is a perfect ski region for families and children who want to learn their first turns in the snow. With gentle slopes, beginner-friendly lifts, and over 50% blue pistes, the area offers ideal conditions for young and inexperienced skiers. Here, little ones can discover the joy of winter sports in a playful and safe way with children's ski courses, while parents relax and enjoy the day – on skis or in the mountain restaurant.
Sölli's winter world at Söllereck
In Sölli's Winter World, even toddlers in the ski area can playfully learn balance and stamina on skis. Children can also have fun with the figure slalom in Sölli's Kinderland, and thanks to the conveyor belts, getting started with skiing is easy. Perhaps our Sölli is even on hand to help you get back on your feet or congratulate you on your first downhill run!
Adult beginners will also enjoy the opportunity to practice on flat terrain and get used to the first climbs on the conveyor belt.
The Wannenköpfle lift is part of the "Oberstdorf Ski Schools" program:/aktiv-sport/skifahren/skischulen-skiverleih/ and is the next step in the ski area for (young) children and beginners.

By the way: With the 3-hour pass (also valid in Söllis Winterwelt), beginners and children can save twice as much – they don't need a pass for the entire ski area and the whole day for their first turns.
Tip: After skiing, little ski novices love to have a romp on the SölliBully – the wooden snow groomer right next to Sölli's Winterwelt.
Skiing for children in Kleinwalsertal
The Kleinwalsertal Valley is a true paradise for families and children who want to learn to ski or develop their skills. Several specially child-friendly practice lifts allow young skiers a safe and playful introduction to winter sports. The Austrian side of our ski area offers these options:
- In Riezlern, the Schwandlift, Kesslerlift, and Ideallift offer the best conditions for beginners – the gentle slopes and short lift runs are ideal for those first turns in the snow.
- In Hirschegg, you'll find the Skikuli and Gaisbühllift with Burmi's Winter World and an additional conveyor belt that's especially suitable for the little ones.
- In Mittelberg, the Jedermannlift, Mooslift, and Wildentallift are also suitable lifts, which are ideal for families thanks to their easy accessibility and clear slopes.
These valley lifts not only offer gentle ascents but also manageable slopes where children can learn to ski at a safe and child-friendly pace.

Burmi's Winter World at Ifen
A conveyor belt and a drag lift comfortably transport you and your children to the practice slope in Burmi's Winter World on the Ifen near the Gaisbühl lift, making it easier for you to get started with skiing. Sport Pauli will provide you with all the necessary equipment, as there's a ski rental shop right at the valley station on the Ifen!
The flat terrain in Burmi's Kinderland on the Ifen is ideal for beginners and those returning to skiing. Once you've mastered your first turns, you can gradually improve. The AlpinLodge Auenhütte, right next to the valley station of the "Ifenbahn" cable car, caters for your culinary needs: /bergbahnen/ifenbahn/ Enjoy a warm tea or hot chocolate in a cozy lounge atmosphere on cozy sheepskins.
Our tip for the little ones: Our marmot mascot "Burmi" doesn't hibernate (like his fellow marmots) – so you can even find him in Burmi's Winter World from time to time!
