Courses & Highlights in the high ropes course in Oberstdorf

Located at an altitude of almost 1,400 meters, right next to the mountain station of the "Söllereckbahn," eight courses with a total of 70 exciting climbing elements await you. Whether you're young or old, everyone will find the perfect course full of fun and adrenaline!

1. "Söllerkopf"*

Balancing with a net and a safety barrier at 8 stations, ages 6 and up.

2. "Nebelhorn"*

Here, at the Allgäu high ropes course, you'll get your first taste of mountain air at 8 stations, ages 6 and up.

3. "Ifen"*

For those who want to cross the border, there are 9 stations, ages 6 and up.

4. "Kegelkopf"*

The moving mountain, 7 stations, ages 8 and up.

5a. "Flying Fox"*

The alternative to climbing, 4 stations on the cable car, ages 7 and up.

5b. "Widderstein"*

For those who dare to take the plunge, 8 stations, ages 10 and up.

5c. "Hammerspitze"*

For the brave - free fall, 3 elements, ages 10 and up.

6. "Krottenkopf"*

For those who want to reach high, 10 stations, ages 10 and up.

Safety in the Söllereck climbing forest

Safety is a top priority at the Oberstdorf Climbing Forest: Proper equipment, including a helmet and full-body harness, as well as trained staff are essential. Please also ensure you wear the right clothing: Long, comfortable sportswear prevents abrasions and pressure points. Sturdy, closed-toe (athletic) shoes provide the necessary support.

All climbing forest visitors are equipped with the Smart Belay communicating safety system. This safety system prevents accidental unhooking, as both carabiners are linked in such a way that only one of them can be opened at a time. If one carabiner is open, the other remains closed.

The entire facility and course were built by Hochkant, guaranteeing a high level of quality. The facility is inspected annually by TÜV.

Our employees are all trained and certified high ropes course instructors. We work according to the quality-oriented operating guidelines of the International Adventure Park Association (IAPA).

Highlights: What makes the climbing forest at Söllereck so special?

Safety: Helmets are generally not required in climbing forests. However, safety is extremely important to us – that's why everyone is required to wear a high-quality helmet and a full-body harness; this provides even more safety than a regular climbing harness.

Location: The climbing forest is located on the Söllereck adventure mountain, amidst the stunning natural surroundings of the Allgäu Alps. Standing on a platform in the climbing forest, you have a unique view of Oberstdorf, 600 meters below – a true WOW effect!

In midsummer at 30 degrees Celsius, it's pleasantly cool in our shady high ropes course up on the mountain. For additional cooling, Lake Freiberg is nearby – and the easy circular hiking trail to the lake is beautiful.

There are many other highlights in the immediate vicinity of the climbing forest: our varied gastronomy at Söllereck, a "ball run at Söllereck," our "Allgäu Coaster," hiking trails, and much more.

Birthdays at the Oberstdorf climbing forest:

For groups of 7 or more children (the birthday child + at least 6 guests), the birthday child receives free admission. Parents have the option of climbing along at the children's rate.
Combined with the many options offered by the Söllereck family mountain, this group outing will be a truly memorable experience: If you have a whole day to spare, we recommend the thrilling ride on the Allgäu Coaster or a stop for lunch at the Berghaus Schönblick. Training to become an instructor at the Söllereck climbing forest

We are looking for athletic, team-oriented, responsible, and committed young people who want to work in the high ropes course near Oberstdorf.

Training Requirements

Affinity to mountaineering/climbing (familiarity with harnesses, ropes, and carabiners)
Ability to communicate effectively and work well with groups
First aid certificate (no older than 3 years)
Minimum age 16
Flexible scheduling, including weekends and holidays
