Are there also guided tours that are easy or family-friendly?

Yes, our guided hikes are also suitable for beginners and families. This means you'll find both easy and enjoyable tours as well as moderately challenging routes in our program. Many of our hikes are very well suited for families and less experienced hikers. In the individual tour descriptions, we indicate the level of difficulty and whether a hike is suitable for children, so you can choose the right tour for you and your companions.

How much does participation cost and do I need to register beforehand?

To participate in our guided hikes, you need a valid cable car ticket from the Oberstdorf Kleinwalsertal cable cars. Participation is free with this ticket. For many of our regular guided hikes, no separate registration is required. If registration is necessary for a particular tour, we will explicitly indicate this in the description.

Where do the guided hikes start in Oberstdorf?

Many of our guided hikes start at the valley or mountain station of the mountain where the hike takes place. A typical meeting point, for example, is the Nebelhorn cable car valley station in the morning. We specify the exact meeting point and time for each tour in the program so you know exactly where to meet our guides. Since the starting point and time can vary depending on the theme and area, you should check the current program on our website before your hike.

For our guided hikes, we recommend hiking gear appropriate for the tour and season. This includes sturdy, well-profiled hiking or trekking boots, weatherproof, layered clothing, a rain and wind jacket, and adequate sun protection including a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen. Pack plenty of water, a snack, and an extra warm layer depending on the weather. Hiking poles can also be very helpful. Always choose your gear based on the stated difficulty level and altitude of your chosen tour.

How large are the guided groups?

We try to conduct our guided hikes in manageable groups so that you feel well looked after and our guides can answer your questions. The exact group size may vary depending on the tour, season, and demand.

Dogs are generally very welcome on our mountain. At the Oberstdorf Kleinwalsertal mountain lifts, you can enjoy many activities together with your four-legged friend, provided you observe the applicable rules, such as keeping your dog on a leash and cleaning up after them. If you are planning a guided tour with your dog, we recommend contacting us beforehand or checking the information in the tour description. This way, we can tell you whether your dog is welcome on the particular tour and if any special conditions apply.
