The hygiene concept and quality promise "careful, safe, gentle," developed in collaboration with the two tourism associations of Oberstdorf and Kleinwalsertal and implemented across the two-country region, is being extended: Expanded guidelines and precautionary measures based on five pillars will protect guests and employees in winter 2020/21. New: A ranger will remind guests to comply with the regulations, such as wearing a face mask, so that nothing stands in the way of the fun of skiing. Because soon it will be: On the slopes, ready, go – into the winter adventure in Oberstdorf/Kleinwalsertal.
Important measures for unlimited winter fun
The two-country region of Oberstdorf/Kleinwalsertal is carefully preparing for the 2020/21 winter season to ensure the experience in the snow: "The summer has shown that our measures have generated impact and safety. Containing a pandemic only works if everyone follows the rules and, at the same time, the right framework is created. The 'Ranger' is responsible for supporting and maintaining this important awareness and personal responsibility among our guests in the coming winter," explains Andreas Gapp, CEO of OBERSTDORF · KLEINWALSERTAL BERGBAHNEN. This means that winter sports enthusiasts will soon have over 130 kilometers of slopes available for long turns on great slopes. Whether beginner or professional, everyone will find their piste highlight in the two-country region.
Five guiding principles for freedom in nature
The hygiene concept of the local mountain railways is based on five pillars. The foundation for this: fresh air! Because it flows through the entire body of skiers and winter hikers on the slopes and at the same time regularly ventilates the cable cars and restaurants. Further measures from the concept:
• Pillar 1 - Mouth and nose protection: Guests and employees must wear masks in all queuing, ticket office, and cable car areas. Guests who forget their face protection will receive a free tube scarf from the cable cars.
• Pillar 2 - Registration: To make tracking as efficient as possible in the event of a case occurring, all guests are registered in mountain restaurants. While this is not required by law on the Austrian side, guests are also registered there to increase safety. To shorten waiting times, registration is possible via the app or MyMountainClub.
• Pillar 3 - Testing: Employees are tested at regular intervals, depending on customer contact.
• Pillar 4 - Disinfection and ventilation: All interior areas and cabins are regularly disinfected and ventilated.
• Pillar 5 - The Ranger: A designated person supports guests and employees throughout the ski area in complying with hygiene measures.
The planned measures go beyond the legal regulations in force in the summer and can be quickly adapted to new requirements if necessary.
