Here you will find our event calendar, event locations, mountain services and much more on our mountains in Oberstdorf and Kleinwalsertal.
Seeing, hearing, feeling, and especially tasting become a special adventure in the mountains. Anyone who has ever been to a summit and eaten there knows: the altitude gives this meal a level of enjoyment that the exact same dish in the valley will never achieve.
It seems as if the mountain air sharpens our senses – all of them, across the board. Suddenly, we see further, and in the silence, we hear sounds that would otherwise remain hidden. We feel the sun's rays more intensely on our skin, and our taste buds seem to blossom. We become not just gourmets, but also sensitive feelers, seers, and listeners.
Gourmets meet mountain railways
As mountain railways, we not only transport you upwards, but also contribute to your all-round experience in our Allgäu mountains. This also includes providing enjoyable moments – for example, those that our region's guests literally let melt in their mouths.
Tafel&Zunder on the Ifen, Gipfelstuba on the Walmendingerhorn, Nebelhorn 2224 (of course) on the Nebelhorn: These are just some of the many good reasons why gourmets feel so at home in the Allgäu and Kleinwalsertal. These and the variety of local specialties, ranging from honey and dairy products to beef and game.
Fine cuisine and sweeping views
Beautiful views on the Nebelhorn, summer and winter alike: The view of 400 peaks at an altitude of 2,200 meters is impressive. With its new summit restaurant Nebelhorn 2224, the Nebelhorn offers gourmets a breathtaking backdrop year-round and serves the finest cuisine from the Allgäu and Kleinwalsertal.
In winter, the culinary offerings on the Ifen are literally ablaze. The region's new culinary flagship awaits in the modernized mountain station: the Tafel&Zunder restaurant. Here, the experienced team led by Gastronomy Manager Thomas Vorholzer and Head Chef Maik Neumann serves local specialties. Fiery elements add a special touch to the lovingly prepared dishes made from high-quality, local, organic ingredients. The modern wooden architecture with a Walser touch and the unique view of Ifen and the Walsertal valley invite you to linger.
Gourmet tip: For all breakfast lovers, we recommend brunch on the Nebelhorn, always on the first Sunday of the month. From 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., gourmets can indulge in a rich, exclusive buffet in the restaurant at the Höfatsblick station.
Not just delicious food...
Pleasure beyond the limits of your taste buds: We prepare a mountain experience for all the senses. On the Walmendingerhorn, for example, you can experience the power of nature on a sunrise ride in summer. Time seems to stand still as the cable car sets off early in the morning and floats towards the sun. The world is bathed in orange-red light, as if the mountains were on fire – a sight that will stay with you in a positive way. A more sporty option is a sunrise hike. A mountain tour on the border between day and night, light and dark... Like a dream that you can experience while awake and therefore enjoy to the fullest. Allowing new feelings and thoughts to enter on the way up – in the silence of the darkness – is balm for the soul.
Excursion tip for enjoyment and wonder
The mountain tour at three special locations provides insights into the historic Kleinwalsertal, the history of glaciers, and the alpine flora and fauna, among other things. Just let the impressions in the Old Town Hall in Oberstdorf, on the Fellhorn at 2,037 meters above sea level and in the Walserhaus in Hirschegg work their magic on you.
