Our Winter Hiking Trails on the Heuberg
The Heuberg rises gently between Mittelberg, Riezlern, and Hirschegg. Spruce forests line the well-maintained trails, offering breathtaking views along the way. Dreamlike hiking routes through the winter wonderland start on the Heuberg hill:
- The Panorama Trail on the Heuberg is well-developed, perfectly groomed, and therefore ideal for families with children or seniors. Between snow-capped mountains and peaceful valleys, the trail leads at over 1,200 meters through spruce forests and across snow-covered meadows. From the Heuberg station, it takes 2.5 hours via the Bühlalpe to Baad. Even on the chairlift on the way up, you can enjoy the view of the Widderstein and the Walser mountains. The white peaks and rocks are particularly impressive in the morning sun. There are access and dismount options, for example, in Mittelberg at the Zaferna chairlift or the Mooslift.

KML Download- Starting from the Heuberg mountain station, the lower high trail also leads down to the valley. From here, you'll enjoy wonderful views not only of the Walser peaks, but also of the Upper Allgäu mountains. On your way down, you'll occasionally walk along the slopes and can watch the skiers making their turns from a safe distance. Halfway there, the Walserblick inn tempts you with Käsknöpfle (cheese dumplings) or Flädlesuppe (flatbread soup). Ambitious athletes can take the ascent in the other direction, safely reaching the Heuberg on the groomed trails—and then relaxing down to the valley via the chairlift.
