The Ifenbahn: Starting point for adventures in summer and winter
It was previously considered an insider tip in the Allgäu Alps, but in recent years it has been gently awakened from its deep slumber: the Ifen with its lifts, slopes, and hiking trails, the Gottesacker plateau, and numerous culinary highlights.
The long opening hours of the Ifenbahn allow skiers, mountaineers, and nature lovers to experience experiences at lofty heights in both summer and winter. The prices of the Ifenbahn are individually calculated and offer attractive discounts for young people, schoolchildren, students, apprentices, children, etc.
We look forward to your visit!
High above the Kleinwalsertal Valley, the Ifen towers as one of the few table mountains in Europe, shrouded in magical legends. On its high plateau lies the Gottesacker Plateau: a karst area of approximately ten square kilometers with stone fields and rugged rock formations, worth a visit in any season.
Top destination for skiers: The final stage of the Ifen Ski Area for a winter family holiday in the Allgäu concluded with the opening of the 10-seater Ifen I and II gondola lifts. In summer the Ifen is a favorite with hiking enthusiasts with its panoramic circuits, challenging hikes, and magnificent views. Spectacular cliffs and the impressive Gottesacker Plateau make the Ifen a fascinating natural wonder made of stone.
Hiking, skiing, enjoying the view: Highlights at Ifen
- The Ifen I and II cable cars: The two 10-seater cable cars of the Ifenbahn guarantee even more skiing fun on around 25 kilometers of slopes and offer breathtaking views during a winter hike on the Ifen. In summer, the Ifen I takes all guests to the Ifenhütte station, which offers the ideal starting point for a hike on the Ifen.
- Neighboring Ski areas on the German-Austrian border: Not far from the Ifen are the Heuberg and Walmendingerhorn ski areas. The regular bus takes you comfortably to the mountain station of the Parsennbahn, which is located in the Heuberg ski area.
- Skiing for early risers & sustainability concepts: In winter, we open the slopes on the Ifen as early as 7:45 a.m. for all "early birds" and don't put sustainability on hold during the cold season! More information about "MyMountainNature" can be found here:/unternehmen/mymountainnature/
- In summer, an easily accessible panoramic path leads directly to the viewpoint below the Ifen after a half-hour walk, where panoramic views are breathtaking and a dreamy mountain flower paradise opens up.
- The Herzsee lake below the Auenhütte is literally the "heart" of the snowmaking system on the Ifen in winter and a refreshing eye-catcher in summer. Throughout the year, it is a prime example of ecological construction and the nature-oriented, sustainable approach to expanding our offerings.
Gastronomy, prices & opening hours at the Ifenbahn
A culinary highlight during the winter season is the Kleinwalsertaler Bergrestaurant Tafel&Zunder at the mountain station of the Ifenbahn cable car. At Tafel&Zunder, the name shines brightly, as do the rooms. The gastronomic concept also matches the ambiance: the traditional local and high-quality organic cuisine, awarded a Green Hat, is perfectly complemented by a touch of fire. The tinder in the name represents the inviting, warm elements in the interior design.
