The Three Peaks Tour over the Fellhorn, the Schlappoldkopf, and the Söllerkopf is absolutely unique in the Allgäu. Nowhere else can you combine three mountain peaks, such a variety of alpine flowers, the magnificent panorama of a ridge hike, and the effortless ascent by cable car. Once you reach the summit station of the cable car, it's not too far on a well-prepared climb to the summit of the Fellhorn at 2,039 meters. Even here, you should take some time to fully enjoy the magnificent panorama.
On the Ridge
For hikers wearing sturdy, ankle-high hiking boots with good tread, after visiting the Fellhorn summit, there's a short, secured section downhill before the ridge widens. From there, you have the opportunity to fully enjoy the magnificent ridge hike up to the Söllerkopf, with downward views of Lake Schlappold and the Kleinwalsertal valley, with a variety of rare mountain flowers and the dreamlike mountain panorama of the Allgäu Alps.
Cheese, Marmots, and Alpine Roses
At the Söllerkopf, you have another opportunity to marvel at the view towards Söllerwanne and Oberstdorf, as well as the steep and exposed ridge of the neighboring Söllergrat, before the path descends to the cozy Schlappoldalpe. The highest alpine pasture in Germany tempts you to stop for a leisurely break with more than just homemade cheese. The alpine pasture is an exciting and entertaining place to stop, especially for family vacations. A well-maintained alpine road leads from the alpine pasture over the idyllically situated Schlappoldsee to the cable car middle station. In many places, the trailside is densely covered with alpine roses, which are in full bloom in June. With a little luck, you might even spot marmots. Once you reach the mid-station, the sun terrace of the mountain inn beckons with a wide selection of food.
