Oberstdorf, June 11, 2024 – Kleinwalsertaler Bergbahn AG looks back on a challenging, yet positive 2022/23 fiscal year.
The 2022/23 fiscal year
Supervisory Board Chairman Michael Lucke gave a brief overview of the past fiscal year and drew an overall positive conclusion: "Despite global political challenges such as the war in Ukraine and the associated delivery problems, demand for our attractive tourist offerings remains high. We are confident that we will be able to continue to provide our guests with a comprehensive, sustainable and ecologically oriented offering in the future, making a visit to our cable cars a special experience."
If one were to describe the 2022/23 fiscal year of Kleinwalsertaler Bergbahn AG, it was characterized by a challenging winter and an outstanding summer: "The mountain experience continues to be highly valued by our guests," said Dr. Andreas Gapp, CEO of Oberstdorf Kleinwalsertal Bergbahnen. "We were able to transport more guests than in the previous year in both the winter and summer seasons. This shows that our services are well-received and appreciated by our guests."
Key success factors, in addition to the tireless commitment of all employees, were certainly the continuous investment in the existing infrastructure and the rapid implementation of communication measures. Successful digitalization projects, such as the online shop, the live status in the app, and the digital parking guidance system, are supporting this flow of information. This system was awarded the Bavarian Tourism Prize by the ADAC (German Automobile Club). "The digital parking guidance system means less traffic searching for parking spaces, a more relaxed journey for guests, and thus a win-win situation for customers and the environment," says Johannes Krieg, CEO of OK Bergbahnen, describing the project.
Outlook: Digitalization optimizes resources
Kleinwalsertaler Bergbahn AG will also increasingly focus on digitalization in the future to make internal processes more efficient and offer guests an improved customer experience. This includes, among other things, the redesigned online shop, which has allowed guests to conveniently book ski passes and cable car rides from home since the 2023/24 winter season. The continuous improvement of resource management, combined with employee training and awareness-raising, has not only ecological but also economic effects.
New Supervisory Board Members
The Annual General Meeting was also used to hold new elections and confirm existing Supervisory Board members. Thomas Egger will remain a member of the Supervisory Board for another term. Stefan Nitschke was newly elected. "We look forward to the proven collaboration with Thomas Egger and at the same time welcome Stefan Nitschke to the Supervisory Board. Both bring valuable expertise and experience that will certainly enrich our board," said Dr. Andreas Gapp.
