Under the interested gaze of many prominent visitors, the cable car supports for the new lifts were firmly anchored to the concrete foundations. This marks another milestone on the way to a completely renovated premium ski area on the Ifen. The two cable cars are scheduled to open in December 2017, just in time for the winter season.
Secure Footing
"Professionals were at work during the demanding transport and installation of the supports. We are very pleased with the smooth and timely process," explains Augustin Kröll, Managing Director of the ski lift company links der Breitach. "Despite the adverse weather last week, we managed to complete it in time and thus avoid a delay," says a pleased Dr. Andreas Gapp, Augustin Kröll's fellow management colleague. Construction of the valley, middle, and top stations is progressing at full speed. "The cable car manufacturer Doppelmayr has already assembled the valley and top stations, ready for operation." Our stations are among the first this year that Doppelmayr technicians in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland have tackled. We are among the pioneers of the season," says Kröll.

Once completed, the modern 10-passenger gondola lifts of the exclusive Doppelmayr D-Line guarantee fast, safe, and comfortable transportation to the Ifen. The wider cabins offer more legroom, more seating space, lower running noise, and with integrated Wi-Fi, we offer our guests significantly more comfort. Starting next winter season, passengers will reach the top station without changing trains and at speeds of up to six meters per second. At the same time, the mountain restaurant is being completely modernized to fully live up to the enjoyment factor. Construction work in full swing since last year
The course for an improved winter offering was already set in 2016. Last year, the Olympiabahn cable car was rebuilt and has since provided increased comfort as the fastest chairlift in Vorarlberg and Germany. The chairlift, also built at the time, The newly constructed snowmaking system with its own storage pond ensures optimal skiing conditions from mid-December to Easter, even in winters with little natural snow, like last year. With the current construction work on the Ifen, the complete renovation, with a total investment volume of more than €40 million, is now in the final stages and nearing completion.
