After an entertaining ascent by cable car to the mountain station, the exit leads to the sun terrace of the Walmendingerhorn cable car. From here, the well-maintained and easily accessible trail no. 1 winds its way through five large switchbacks to the summit of the Walmendinger Horn at 1,999 meters above sea level.
Natural? Natural!
An impressive array of mountain flowers, from Alpine pasque flowers to gentian, thrives in pristine natural beauty on the sun-drenched southeastern slope. The natural alpine flower trail leads past more than 130 plant and flower families, each with a brief description. The unique biodiversity of the plants is clearly described and explained along the short path from the mountain station to the summit cross.
High above the Kleinwalsertal
Once you reach the summit, you will be rewarded with one of the most beautiful summit views in the Kleinwalsertal. While the slopes of the Walmendingerhorn to the south are mostly flatter and sun-drenched, the northern slopes drop steeply and shadily into the Schwarzwassertal valley. To the north, the stunning panorama of the bizarre Hochifen and the impressive Gottesacker plateau captivates. To the south, you can enjoy a fantastic view of the Wildental, Gemstltal, and Bärgundtal valleys. On the opposite side, the rocky peaks of the Elfer and Zwölfer can be admired. At the end of the Kleinwalsertal, the large Widderstein dominates the mountain panorama.
After a long summit experience, the manageable descent leads you back to the Walmendingerhorn cable car mountain station in a short time. Here, the Gipfelstuba – a stylishly furnished restaurant in the mountain station – or the restaurant's sun terrace invite you to relax and unwind.
