In the Scheidtobel area at Fellhorn, a comprehensive package of measures is planned to improve the quality of both the slopes and the lifts and snowmaking system. Numerous smaller elements work together seamlessly to create this comprehensive project.

What began in 2019 with initial planning for the construction of a reservoir for the snowmaking system, in close collaboration with regional associations, will culminate in 2026 with the construction of the new Scheidtobel lift and several measures to optimize the slopes and snowmaking system, ultimately offering our guests an "optimized and high-quality skiing experience."

It's a long road to transform these numerous small elements into a cohesive whole. More comfort at Nebelhorn – the new Koblat cable car

The overall project "Optimization of Scheidtobel Fellhorn" integrates measures from the areas of lift and facility construction, as well as slope construction and snowmaking. Here is a brief overview of the planned measures and the associated permitting processes:

After roughly 30 years, it's time to say goodbye and look to the future: The Koblatbahn, built in 1996 on the Nebelhorn, is being replaced by a modern lift in the same location. Generations of winter sports enthusiasts have made their first turns here, experienced countless moments, and helped shape the unique atmosphere of the Nebelhorn. We're taking this very feeling with us into the future – and consistently developing it further. With the new lift, we're focusing on even more comfort, top quality, and a significantly improved mountain experience for you.

For the 2026/2027 winter season, a state-of-the-art, detachable 6-seater chairlift with weather protection hoods and heated seats awaits you. You'll feel the difference as soon as you board: The slower movement of the chair around the boarding area makes boarding particularly comfortable and safe – a noticeable advantage, especially for families with children, beginners, and anyone who wants a relaxed start. During the ride, you'll enjoy the breathtaking views of the mountains, protected from wind and weather and in pleasant warmth.

Another highlight of the new operating concept is the chairlift garage: This ensures that the seats start each ski day snow-free and perfectly prepared. No more knocking off snow, no more cold seats – instead, a comfortable and seamless start to your mountain adventure.

And a piece of history will be preserved: The existing Koblat chairlift chairs won't simply disappear. They will be auctioned off, and the proceeds will benefit a good cause – keeping the memory of many special years at the Nebelhorn alive while also having a positive impact on the region.
