Junior Controller / Advisor to the Board - Investments & Projects (m/f/d)
You have initial experience in controlling and want to take the next step: closer to corporate management, closer to investment decisions, closer to practical application. You think analytically, work in a structured manner, and can translate numbers into clear statements.
We are looking for someone who combines controlling and board work equally (50/50): You will further develop reporting and planning – and you will provide intensive support to the board on investment and construction projects, including business cases and decision-making documents.
Description
Your tasks (approx. 50% controlling):
Creation and further development of reports, key performance indicators and business analyses
Assistance with budget planning, forecasts, and support with month-end closings.
Target-actual comparisons, variance analyses, as well as cost-effectiveness and ad-hoc analyses
Further development of cost accounting and improvement of cost and profit transparency
Providing support to the specialist departments and management in commercial matters and calculations.
Participation in the design/digitalization of controlling processes (preferably with an affinity for automation/AI)
Your tasks (approx. 50% Advisor to the Board – Investments & Projects):
Supporting the board of directors in investment and construction projects: preparing, structuring, coordinating, and following up.
Development of business cases: comparison of variants, sensitivities, lines of argumentation, establishing decision readiness
Preparation of decision-making documents: management summaries, presentations, status and risk reports
Preparation and follow-up of meetings and project regulars including minutes, action tracking and follow-ups
Interface management with internal departments and external partners (e.g., planners, service providers, authorities) – depending on the project
Research and assistance when reliable information is needed for decision-making at short notice.
Your profile:
Completed studies (business administration/economics/industrial engineering or similar) or comparable qualification
Initial practical experience in controlling/finance (working student positions, internships or traineeships are also possible)
Strong interest in investment calculations, business cases and project work
Highly proficient in Excel, good PowerPoint skills; ideally with ERP experience.
Analytical thinking skills, initiative, and a passion for making things better.
High reliability, discretion and clarity in communication (due to close proximity to the board)
Here's what you can expect:
Direct, regular collaboration with the board and insight into key investment and development decisions.
A role with creative freedom and a steep learning curve between controlling and projects
Short decision-making processes, pragmatic cooperation, down-to-earth culture
Attractive employee benefits and discounts related to our mountain railways
Work where others go on vacation – right in the heart of the mountains around Oberstdorf
