In summer 2021, the auditors of the Austrian Chamber of Commerce once again awarded the "Best Austrian Summer Mountain Railways" seal of quality. Once again, the Kanzelwand and Walmendingerhorn cable cars impressed the jury in almost 90 different criteria, securing their certification for another three years. In addition, the two cable cars scored highly in specific thematic categories: the Walmendingerhorn in the "Enjoyable Mountain" category, and the Kanzelwand in the "Family Mountain" category.
Sustainable investments noticeable

This shows that our developments and investments of recent years are clearly noticeable with our guests, that the Kanzelwand delights families, and that the Walmendingerhorn delights guests with delicious treats," says a delighted CEO Andreas Gapp. For many years, the OBERSTDORF · KLEINWALSERTAL BERGBAHNEN have relied on local cuisine with regional products and thus on sustainable practices in mountain gastronomy. It's fitting that two Allgäu breweries share the supply to the two-country mountain railway network. In addition to specific highlight offerings on the Walmendingerhorn, such as a murder mystery dinner or a sunrise ride followed by brunch, the expert jury was convinced that the Walmendingerhorn is a true pleasure mountain that also focuses on regional products. The Kanzelwand peak scored highly for its nature-based and playful family offerings. For example, the "Burmiwasser Adventure Trail" offers the opportunity to experiment with water. Children can really let off steam here, and splashing around is expressly permitted.
