In his honor and as a thank you for his many years of loyal service, a cabin on the 10-seater Ifen I gondola lift is dedicated to him.

"With Klaus Gobald, a long-standing, dedicated employee who has experienced a great deal with us is entering his well-deserved retirement. He was and remains an important part of our team. We look forward to seeing him again, THANK YOU FOR HIS TIRELESS COMMITMENT, and wish him all the best," says Managing Director Dr. Andreas Gapp. Klaus Gobald began his professional career at the Ifen in the early 1970s. Initially working as a lift assistant, track operator, and in the electrical field, Klaus Gobald's role grew along with the ski area: In 1975, he completed his training as operations manager and was appointed deputy operations manager of Ifen-Lift Alfons Herz KG. The first major project in which Klaus Gobald was involved in his role as deputy operations manager was the construction of the Hahnenköpfle cable car in 1978. Further major projects followed in quick succession in the 1990s, such as the modernization of the "Ifenhütte" double chairlift in 1991, the construction of the wastewater treatment plants at the Hahnenköpfle mountain station in 1995, and the opening of the winter hiking trail on the Gottesacker plateau in 1996. Due to his tireless commitment to the Ifen and his unparalleled wealth of experience, the next logical career step followed in 2001 with his appointment as Ifen Operations Manager.

The period after the turn of the millennium was also marked by exciting events, in which Klaus Gobald's knowledge of the Ifen was always indispensable. In 2006, he oversaw the expansion of the Schäfalp-Gamsrücken ski connection to the Gottesackergleitweg ski slope and was also heavily involved when Kleinwalsertaler Bergbahn AG acquired the Ifen in 2009. His most recent major project was the construction of the Ifen I and II cable cars, which were officially opened in December 2017.
As a token of appreciation for his decades of dedication, which contributed significantly to the company's success, a Klaus Gobald gondola on the 10-seater Ifen I cable car will now transport countless ski enthusiasts up the mountain for fun on the slopes.
