The cattle have already safely arrived in the valley, and the shepherds and dairymen are preparing the alpine pastures for winter. Once the work is done, the final meal is served high up on the alpine pasture – and it's time to say goodbye. This year, for the 18th time, this year's International Alpine Mass takes place on the Fellhorn near Oberstdorf. An impressive sight is created by the approximately 50 alphorn players who, on this day, provide musical accompaniment to a celebratory mountain mass at 11 a.m. with their instruments. Afterwards, the individual groups disperse to the most beautiful spots and give further demonstrations of their skills. At 3 p.m., the large community concert and the traditional bell raffle take place. The event takes place regardless of the weather.
