It's finally getting truly summery again in Oberstdorf and Kleinwalsertal: After Fellhorn/Kanzelwand, Walmendingerhorn, and Söllereck, the Nebelhorn season is now beginning. Starting Saturday, May 20, the Nebelhorn cable car will be operating daily from 8:30 a.m. to 4:50 p.m. Although winter still has its last vestiges, some first-time hikes are already possible: The panoramic trail at the Höfatsblick station and the trail toward Zeigersattel are open. At the Seealpe station, the Uff d'r Alp circular trail and the paths down to the valley are open. Now is also a great opportunity for a first walk across the steel "Balcony of the Allgäu." The new, 100-meter-long, barrier-free north face trail, anchored in the Nebelhorn north face, allows you to circumnavigate the entire summit area. The new Nebelhorn 2224 summit restaurant awaits with culinary highlights. The Heuberg and Zafernabahn cable cars will be the last to be open daily starting May 25th. All hiking trails are perfectly accessible and largely free of snow; only the path to the Walmendingerhorn may still be partially covered in snow.
