The Golden October is worth a visit to the mountains. There are numerous opportunities for this in the first few days of this month. For example, German Unity Day on October 3rd can be celebrated in style on the Nebelhorn, high above Oberstdorf. The Peitinger Alpenrose men's choir and a substantial group of alphorn players will accompany a mountain service at 11:30 a.m. at the Höfatsblick station, followed by a concert. In case of inclement weather, the event will take place in the Panorama Restaurant. Admission is free.
A few days later, the Walmendingerhorn will be a contemplative, serene, and mysterious affair. On Thursday, October 5th, the "Legendary Summit Dinner" is once again on the program. With Annika Hofmann's storytelling and Martina Noichl's harp playing, they will take visitors on a journey between day and night. The delicious four-course menu served with the meal is just as delicious as the enchanting stories. It begins at 7 p.m., with the last ascent at 6:30 p.m. Price per person including mountain and valley ride, aperitif, and menu: 54 euros. Advance reservations by phone at +43 (0)5517/5274-2322 or +49 (0)8322/9600-2322.
