At the exit of the Höfatsblick mountain station, we follow the signs to the right for Zeigersattel. Depending on the amount of snow, the groomed winter hiking trail can vary slightly from year to year, so it's worth looking out for a signpost right at the beginning. As soon as we leave the Edmund Probst House behind us, the trail descends towards two snow-covered alpine huts. Shortly before that, we follow the winter hiking trail to the left and leave the Nebelhornbahn ski area.
Now it gets quieter
Where just a moment ago we could hear party music from the Gemsnest ski bar or the ski turns of sporty skiers, the noise now becomes quieter. Short breaks invite us to enjoy the beautiful views over the Faltenbachtal valley down to Oberstdorf. A small foretaste of what awaits us at the end of our winter hike.
The majestic Allgäu Alps
After a short and gentle climb, we reach the Zeigersattel. Now a fantastic view opens up to us of the deeply snow-covered landscape of the majestic Allgäu Alps. The Höfats, also called the Queen of the Allgäu Alps, is just one of countless impressive mountain peaks! It will certainly take some time to get your fill of this panorama. We then return along the same winter hiking trail to the Nebelhornbahn - Höfatsblick station.
Diverse gastronomy
Once we arrive back at the cable car mountain station, we find a varied gastronomic offering, including the Skibar called Gemsnest, the Edmund-Probst-Haus, and the Marktrestaurant. For sun-seekers who still haven't had enough, there is a practical spot with plenty of lounge chairs on the sun terrace of the Marktrestaurant.
