Beautiful hike with varied and magnificent views.
Easy hiking trail (strollers are welcome, but some of this trail is quite steep downhill). | easy | approx. 3.5 hours
After a short climb past the Berghaus Schönblick and Berghaus am Söller, the first impressive view of Oberstdorf awaits you at the top. The trail continues along a wooden walkway through the Hühnermoos moor. At the end of the moor, the walkway finally leads into a wide gravel forest path, which initially flattens and then steadily descends to the Gasthof Hochleite.
After a refreshment at the Hochleite, the trail continues along the road or footpath to the small hamlet of "Schwand." From there, it's not far to the highest bathing lake in the Allgäu - Lake Freiberg. We've earned a break here. If you don't feel like swimming, you can also visit the nearby Heini-Klopfer-Schanze, one of the largest ski jumping hills in the world. From Freibergsee, the route then takes you back to the valley station of the Söllereckbahn via the Edmund-Probst-Weg.
