Panorama Trail on the Heuberg
A few meters above the Heuberg mountain station, the upper high trail leads almost level through the slopes of the Heuberg. The wide, easily accessible forest path offers ideal conditions for children and even seniors. A mix of dense spruce forests, the occasional proud sycamore maple, colorful flower meadows, and lush pastures provides scenery variety. Impressive views of the Kleinwalsertal mountains, the Wildental and Gemstltal valleys, and the roofs of Mittelberg in the valley below open up again and again.
Interesting Facts Along the Trail
In the Bühlalpe area, the undiminished panoramic descent begins to the lower Erlenboden, where a particularly large number of this birch species once existed. After the first sunny and flower-rich section, a dense mountain forest offers welcome shade. To ensure a good path, steeper sections are paved. At the end of the descent, the trail continues through the legendary Alpine Forest towards the end of the valley. Here once lived a wicked wandering student who had the gift of foreseeing the future. His predictions about fires and avalanches are said to have actually come true.
Be sure to fill your water bottle!
The Baader Höhenweg leads through species-rich flower meadows from Mittelberg to Baad, the small, picturesque village at the end of the Kleinwalsertal Valley. Idyllically situated benches invite you to linger. At the Chalta Spring, you can enjoy fresh, crystal-clear mountain spring water of the highest quality. This spring is the largest of five natural water sources in the Kleinwalsertal Valley. The final section follows a well-maintained, easily accessible hiking trail. The predominantly wooded surroundings make for a pleasant last few meters on hot summer days.
