Skiing enjoyment from the Walmendingerhorn ski area to the Heuberg and back
With the Widderstein in view: On their way down to the valley, skiers on the Walmendingerhorn are treated to an incredible mountain panorama. Wide, red runs and narrow, romantic forest trails lead skiers down to Mittelberg, from where the Walmendingerhorn cable car, operated by Oberstdorf Kleinwalsertal Bergbahnen, whisks them back up to icy heights.
The ski area, together with the Heuberg ski area and the Ifen ski area, forms a diverse network with a total of 65 kilometers of slopes. The Oberstdorf Kleinwalsertal Bergbahnen ski pass is, of course, valid here as well. From the Walmendingerhorn, take the Zaferna lift and follow the scenic ski trails to the "family ski area" on the Heuberg, whose gentle, blue slopes offer a great introduction to skiing, especially for children and beginners. The slopes on the Heuberg and Parsenn then connect skiers to the ski shuttle, which takes more advanced skiers to the Ifen. There, winter sports enthusiasts can test their skills on the challenging slopes and the Olympic downhill run.
With the Oberstdorf Kleinwalsertal Bergbahnen ski pass, you also have access to the ski areas around Oberstdorf – skiing fun on the seven mountains of the two-country ski region.

Breathe in the crisp mountain air at the Walmendingerhorn mountain station or continue your ascent: At 1,946 meters, the glass panoramic elevator takes you to the viewing platform. From here, your gaze sweeps far across the Allgäu Alps, the Kleinwalsertal valley, and the Swiss mountains. Tired skiers enjoy the sun both on the sun terrace of the Gipfelstuba and in the quiet oasis, sheltered from the whistling mountain wind. True to the Gipfelstuba's motto: "daa chascht hee hocka"; the laconic answer the locals give when they want to recommend a place to eat.
Nature-loving skiers feel particularly at home in the Walmendingerhorn ski area
Diverse slopes, a snow-covered mountain panorama, and varied cuisine: skiing on the Walmendingerhorn is a true delight for the senses. Leisure skiers and families often choose the "beginner's ski area" (https://www.ok-bergbahnen.com/aktiv-sport/skifahren/skigebiete-anfaenger/) at the foot of the Walmendingerhorn because it's the quietest of the ski areas in the Kleinwalsertal valley. The Zaferna chairlift and Mooslift take you to gentle blue slopes. From here, you can also access the ski trail to Hirschegg.
Those who want to experience the summit air can take the comfortable Walmendingerhorn cable car to the mountain station. Sit back and enjoy the view! The upper part of the Walmendingerhorn offers advanced skiing and snowboarding action with its red and black runs. If you're not quite ready for the descent to the valley, simply take the gondola back down to Mittelberg. Numerous mountain and valley lifts ensure a relaxed day of skiing, tailored to your skill level. You can find an overview in the "Walmendingerhorn Piste Map": https://www.ok-bergbahnen.com/skigebiete/pistenplan-interaktiv/. What are you waiting for?
