In winter, the ski area with its long, snow-proof valley runs, perfectly groomed slopes and action-packed mogul runs, will convince you all along the line.
Family highlight: the new blue slope between the top station of the ´Fellhornbahn II´ gondola and it´s mid-station is perfect for the whole family!
Another highlight is the ´Bierenwangbahn´ chairlift, which replaced the last t-bar lift in 2017 and is now a speedy chairlift with heated seats and weather protection bubbles.
In summer, a unique floral paradise, panoramic hiking trails and themed hikes are waiting for you.
2.400 passengers per hour
In summer, the ´Fellhornbahn I´ is in operation and in winter the ´Fellhornbahn II´ takes over to take up to 2.400 passengers per hour into the snowy mountain world. Afterwards, the ´Fellhorn Gipfelbahn´ covers the rest of the way to reach the peak station.
Once arrived at the top, incredible mountain moments are waiting for you:
- During the winter months, you will find the easy terrain park right below the mid-station of the Fellhorn cable car. It is perfect for snowboarders and freeskiers alike and with its easy and medium kicker line and obstacles it is also suitable for beginners.
- The cable car takes you comfortably to the lush mountain meadows in summer. At the end of June, when the alpine roses are in bloom, the whole mountain looks like a red sea of flowers and enchants nature lovers every year anew.
- All year round, you can find the border between Germany and Austria and between the Allgäu and the Kleinwalsertal at the Fellhorn. Such a cross-border experience is a highlight by itself, don´t you think?
The cable car takes you comfortably and easily uphill, but for the way back down there are several options in summer and winter. The 5,7km long valley run is not only the perfect ending to a great skiing day, but also the best thing to begin it with.
During the hiking season, one of the options to get back to the valley is the family-friendly descent via the ´Schlappoldsee´ lake and the alp ´Schlappold´, which is the highest situated dairy alp in Germany. Every year, 80 local cows enjoy their summer up here. Several different sorts of cheese, butter and other dairy products are being produced here. A short stop on your way to the valley is worthwile and while you enjoy a fresh buttermilk, your children can meet the goats, rabbits, pigs and - of course - cows that live here.
